"Jikela Emaweni" (often "Jikele Maweni" or "Jikela Emaweni Hamba") is a traditional Xhosa folk song famously recorded by Miriam Makeba in 1960. The song, which often refers to "turning around the cliff" or going to the mines, is a staple of South African music and frequently performed. Here I blended the Fezeka School Choir's (Gugulethu, Cape Town) a capella version with my own musical composition, using African rhythm and percussion instruments (including vuvuzelas!)
